Produced as an homage to Wallace Berman, whose work and assemblage aesthetic were a significant influence on the editor and publisher. The title Volta was borrowed from James Joyce’s short-lived Dublin cinema venture of the same name, opened in 1909 and remembered today largely as one of the author’s more unusual failures.
