Description
One of the pleasures of collecting Eric Stanton is discovering the material he published himself outside of the better-known Irving Klaw and later reprint projects. The Stantoons series captures Stanton working in his own universe, unconstrained and unapologetic. Issue #7 contains three stories: Poor Letty, Ladyprincker, and Blunder Broad, all rendered in Stanton’s unmistakable style of exaggerated female power, fetish costuming, and comic-book melodrama.
By 1984 Stanton had already become a cult figure among collectors of fetish art, bondage illustration, underground comics, and pin-up culture. Publications like Stantoons were produced in comparatively small numbers and were often purchased by enthusiasts rather than mainstream comic readers. As a result, surviving copies are increasingly difficult to locate, particularly in collectible condition.
A desirable addition to any Eric Stanton collection.
