Description
Finding one title from the short-lived Études Books series is uncommon enough. Finding all three first editions together is another matter entirely. Published in Paris by Études Studio in September 2012, each volume was issued in an edition of just 300 copies, pairing contemporary photography with thoughtful editorial design that quickly became a hallmark of the studio’s publishing program.
The set comprises Daniel Everett’s Standard Edition, Nicolai Howalt’s Car Crash Studies, and Nicolas Hosteing’s Matador, each accompanied by its original English-language booklet. The minimalist blue cloth bindings and restrained typography reflect the distinctive design language that helped establish Études as an influential presence in contemporary art publishing. An increasingly elusive complete set for collectors of modern photobooks, independent publishing, and contemporary European design.
A scarce opportunity to acquire the first three books in the Études series which, at this writing, is up to No. 28.
