Description

Robert Kelly stands among the most significant yet often overlooked figures of postwar American poetry. Associated with the deep-image movement and a contemporary of writers such as Robert Creeley, Allen Ginsberg, and Jerome Rothenberg, Kelly produced an enormous body of work spanning poetry, fiction, translation, criticism, and performance. His influence can be traced through generations of experimental and independent poets, making his signed limited editions increasingly appreciated by collectors of modern American literature.

Published by Black Sparrow Press in 1998, The Time of Voice: Poems 1994–1996 gathers work from a mature period in Kelly’s long literary career. The edition was issued in just 100 numbered hardcover copies signed by the author, along with a smaller lettered issue containing original artwork. Barbara Martin’s striking late-period Black Sparrow design gives the volume exceptional shelf presence, combining bold geometric elements with the press’s trademark fine-production values.

A beautiful signed Black Sparrow limited from one of the most important poets in the American small-press tradition.
