The bonus here is the original laid-in advertisement announcing the launch of KULTURE, listing forthcoming contributions from William S. Burroughs, Paul Bowles, Allen Ginsberg, Diane di Prima, John Fles, Charles Olson, Fielding Dawson, Richard Krech, Donald Phelps, Martin Williams, and artwork by Basil King. KULTURE was one of the most important little magazines of the Beat era, founded in New York by Bob Alexander in 1960 as a forum for the emerging avant-garde, publishing writers such as William S. Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, Diane di Prima and others. Ephemeral pieces like this were often discarded, making surviving examples especially desirable to collectors of Beat Generation publishing and little magazines.

An excellent copy of a classic Beat-era literary magazine, made even more interesting by the survival of its original KULTURE prospectus — an uncommon ephemeral insert that most collectors will never encounter.
